With six locations in NYC, a few of which are scattered throughout Midtown, Dim Sum Palace couldn’t possibly be great, right? Wrong. The chain excels at not just rice rolls and har gow, but plenty of other Cantonese dishes as well. Come for dinner, and get a whole steamed fish, a platter of chow fun, and some lightly breaded walnut shrimp glazed with just enough sweet mayo-based sauce. Or stop by in the daytime, and try a dim sum sampler made to order (no carts here, unfortunately). This outpost on 56th Street can easily accommodate big groups, with an upper level featuring huge round tables topped with lazy susans.
