What makes the monasteries interesting is their location and the surrounding landscape. This one is dated to the the 16th century. The frescos, however, look older as they have never been cleaned up.

This was our sixth monastery we went to. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. A LOT of stairs and tours and buses. Be patient parking and don’t think you’ll park close. Wear good walking shoes. This i
