Provecho Calimex originally made a name for itself selling plates of chilaquiles and hulking breakfast burritos at the Mar Vista and Marina Del Rey farmers markets. Now this family-run operation has a small café next to a butcher shop in the west part of Culver City where you can pop in for homey Mexican breakfast dishes and a cup of cafe de olla or passionfruit-magno agua fresca. Our go-to here is the signature breakfast burrito, filled with a choice of meat (go with the asada or the housemade Oaxacan chorizo) and a perfectly cooked scramble of potatoes, chiles pepper, and tender chunks of potato, plus a trio of freshly made salsas.
