Centennial doesn’t get as much love as some of the other meat and threes, but it’s home to a steady stream of regulars who’ve figured out just how good the food is. The fried chicken is seasoned and shatteringly crispy, the coleslaw is mayo-based (as it should be), and the “slice” of meatloaf easily takes up half the plate. The cafe itself isn’t much to look at—the cinderblock building has tables and chairs that seem like they've been ripped from an ’80s office cafeteria. But the expert execution of Southern dishes, warm service, and throwback prices (plates will run you less than $10) are what’ll turn you into a repeat customer.
