About

Sometimes, the universe (or in this case, a hotel planner) designs an incredibly convenient night out. One where you don't have to get your keys back from the valet between cocktails and dinner, or dinner and post-dinner drinks. When we're looking for an all-in-one experience, we picture something like Tiny Lou's: a good French brasserie inside a hotel that also happens to have a rooftop bar with one of the best skyline views in the city. The food at Tiny Lou’s (which is named after the adult dancer who used to headline at Hotel Clermont in the '50s) has the energy and zest of a kickline. Start off with our favorite deviled eggs in Atlanta, which are jazzed up with a teaspoon of salty caviar. Other good hors d’oeuvre options include a creamy french onion dip (dig all the way to the bottom for the actual caramelized onions) served with thin housemade potato chips. Mains playfully combine French dishes like duck confit with Southern staples like succotash, with delicious results. And dinner here isn’t complete without a dessert. Consider their crepe cake a must order. Just note: the cake will have more layers than The Matrix, will rotate flavors often (think: caramel, white chocolate-raspberry, and orange marmalade), and will be delicious. The dining room feels kind of retro with plush pink benches, curved leather booths, and black and white photographs lining the walls. Everything here is a step up from a restaurant with paper napkins and people in graphic tees, but a step down from fine dining with crisp white tablecloths. It makes for a good date night spot when things are getting a little serious, or that once a month friend catch-up where you want to maximize your night out with dinner and rooftop drinks without wasting 20 minutes sitting on the downtown connector. Whatever your situation, Tiny Lou’s is a reliable choice for quality food and an easy two-part night out that needs minimal planning.
