ʻAkaka Falls State Park is a state park on Hawaiʻi Island, in the U.S. state of Hawaii. The park is about 11 miles north from Hilo, west of Honomū off the Hawaii Belt Road (route 19) at the end of Hawaii Route 220. It includes ʻAkaka Falls, a 442 feet tall waterfall. ʻAkaka in the Hawaiian language means "A rent, split, chink, separation; to crack, split, scale".

Nice, lush gardens on this ~ 30 minute paved path with Akaka falls halfway through. The vegetation near the falls viewpoint obscures your ability to get a complete photo of the falls and pool below. G
Breathtaking and spectacular site to see the country's tallest waterfall. Rainbow falls is another epic waterfall on the east side but doesn't come close to how captivating it is seeing this beauty. A
We parked outside the gate since the lot was full. Short walk to use the restroom before the hike. Only one women's bathroom stall accessible. Not a very pleasant smell and a long line. Entrance fee f
