Alice’s Lounge in Avondale used to be too cramped and bright for a karaoke bar—it was strictly for people too far along on a Saturday night to care. But now space has less light and doesn't have an awkwardly placed pool table, both key ingredients to making this karaoke spot a destination in its own right. Someone will still request “Bohemian Rhapsody” a little too early into the night’s festivities, but Alice’s 2.0 is more fun than any number of previous experiences would suggest. They even have laminated menus now, if you can believe it.
