About
The Dampfzentrale ("steam center") is a cultural centre and music venue and former fossil fuel power plant in Bern, Switzerland. The power plant was built in 1904 by architect Eduard Joos on behalf of the municipal authorities. Its coal boilers were complemented with diesel generators in 1924. In 1939, coal power generation ceased and the 50 meters high chimney was demolished. In 1973, the power plant was shut down and the building was used for storage.

Great spot on the esplanade with river view. The food is good, but nothing very special. Good vibe outside l, but the staff is not very friendly. Inside is a mess without any cleaning on the bathroom.
Beautiful outside on the river, menu is a little small, portions a bit small, and not impressive. And expensive. So - typical Swiss restaurant lol
There are 2 swcrions to this restaurant by the tover. Location is great. There is a regular restaurant menu but we were in the snack section where the choice was limited - the veggie tarte flambée was
