MacCallum House is another fancy-ish American restaurant in one of the many inns around town, but the fact that almost everything is housemade, down to the ice cream and butter, is what sets it apart. We especially love the “Nightly Noodles” (always fettuccine), which one day might be topped with a creamy mushroom sauce, and another, halibut puttanesca. Eating it all in the sunroom-esque dining room next to a century-old fireplace is a flat-out delightful way to spend a nice night out, whether you’re celebrating a double-digit anniversary or taking your in-laws out for dinner.
