I loved the beach at Chacala. We went on a Friday in October. It was not crowded, the water was warm, and the people were friendly. There were plenty of restaurants and bars with palapas to res, relax

Fun day at the beach. Started with a hike to the top of the ancient volcano rim. Easy surf. Reasonable prices at the beach. Parking is a chore.
