Bar Hugo is the rare hotel rooftop with a happy hour that’s actually good. It is also isn’t as cheesy as your average hotel rooftop, and the happy hour goes pretty late (9pm, for some reason). If you work downtown, keep it in mind for after-work drinks. Or bring a date here the next time you feel like being impressive. The views of downtown Manhattan beat those from the front window of the dive bar where you usually go. And, especially for a rooftop, the drinks are pretty affordable. Maybe that’s because Hotel Hugo is in an area below Greenwich Village (known as Hudson Yards) that people generally don’t hang out in. Use this to your advantage.
