This is a seriously impressive cathedral, on a scale unusual in England. On first entering it is fairly overwhelming, largely I think because it has ascending levels & one cannot see the whole length

What an EXCELLENT visit! So much history and I strongly recommend the guided tour for an extra £5. Stunningly beautiful and oozing history. Spent almost 3 hours here.
