About

The Hartford Municipal Building, also known as Hartford City Hall, is a historic Beaux-Arts structure located at 550 Main Street. It was built in 1915 on land in part donated by J. Pierpont Morgan. It replaced the Old State House as the seat of city government for Hartford, Connecticut and was called the municipal building to distinguish it from the state house which continued to be known as city hall.
