The Swiss Museum of Transport or Verkehrshaus der Schweiz in Lucerne opened in July 1959 and exhibits all forms of transport including trains, automobiles, ships and aircraft as well as communication technology. It is Switzerland's most popular museum. The museum also maintains a large collection of work by Hans Erni, a local painter and sculptor.

Absolutely excellent museum. Enjoyable for adults and children. There were scooters for kids to get around the buildings. Awesome exhibits, both traditional and interactive. Definitely worth the trip!
This is more than a transport museum, it covers associated engineering as well. Trains, planes, satellites, helicopters, cars, some boats and even play roadworks. This is a must for boys and girls o..
Huge and well laid out. My sons (12 and 15) particularly loved it. Not super crowded. We enjoyed the chocolate exhibit, and had tasty Indian food at the cafe.
