Supreme Dumplings is a Seattle-based restaurant that, on paper, reads like a Din Tai Fung dupe—think hand-folded xiao long bao, pork chops draped over fried rice, and wontons coated in chili oil. But this outpost inside of Stonestown—the first in California—stands on its own, and is worth a trip to the mall. Focus on the soup dumplings, the mini pan-fried potstickers, and lava buns for dessert. There are also sake cocktails that help take the edge off if you just endured a cutthroat crowd at the Pop Mart vending machine nearby. Since Bay Areans consider dumplings their own food group, expect a wait—but once you’re seated at a marble table under the bright lights, things move quickly.
