You can do a lot of nice, pleasant things at Dear Friends Books in Bed-Stuy, like play some chess at the bar with a cup of tea, or sit in the backyard patio with a glass of pét-nat. You can also shop for books—this is a proper bookstore—or swing by during any number of special events, like weekly summer movies, creative writing workshops, and poetry readings. Just know that beyond the occasional pop-up, Dear Friends doesn’t serve food, so plan on grabbing a bite nearby.
