This Capitol Hill Indian restaurant is a solid upscale-ish dinner option in a neighborhood that doesn’t have many sit-down Indian spots to begin with. Benches with comfortable pillows and moody lighting help set an intimate tone for a date, but it’s not so disorientingly dark that your food becomes invisible. It’s mellow in here (with mostly small groups catching up over curry), and while the food is hit or miss, there are a couple of standouts, like a tandoori lamb chops punched up with herby pesto, or the very spicy Nagpouri Saoji chicken. The bill won’t be cheap, but considering people are out here blowing 401ks on Labubus, you’ve likely paid more for less.
