Sightseer draws you in the second you pull into the parking lot. First, there’s the giant blue Tupac mural on the side of the building. As you round the corner, trippy eyeball logos beckon to the queer-owned coffee shop’s front door. This place’s petiteness makes it precious—two-thirds of the South 1st space belongs to Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop, so there are only a couple of tables and a handful of tchotchkes (vintage roller skates, art that looks like it could have been inspired by Donnie Darko). Take your drink to go, but linger as long as you can. The store brews all of the typical beverages, plus a handful of specialty drinks. Our favorite is the smoked maple latte with black lava salt. During the morning, Sightseer also sells breakfast tacos from Bouldin Creek Cafe down the street.
