Around the corner from the Toronto International Film Festival headquarters, Nobu’s first hotel in Canada fits in so well in the downtown Entertainment District that it might as well be the flagship. A pair of modern towers contain Nobu residences and the Nobu Hotel Toronto — which, with just 36 rooms & suites, all embodying the brand’s signature minimalist aesthetic, is intimately sized compared to most in the collection. The interiors are sleek and Japanese-inspired with pale wood paneling, floor-to-ceiling windows, and spa-like stone bathrooms with soaking tubs, Toto toilets, and yukata robes. Corner suites have dazzling skyline views, and lake-facing suites feature living rooms with glass fireplaces and sectional sofas. The sultry lobby bar and gorgeously designed Nobu Restaurant are always in high demand, but the serene Sakura Lounge, inspired by the look of a traditional Japanese tea house, is exclusively for guests.
