Albissola Marina is a comune in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 35 kilometres west of Genoa and about 4 kilometres northeast of Savona. The 16th-century Spaniard Gonzalo Argote de Molina identified Albissola Marina as the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, though the details of Columbus' origin remain a matter of dispute.
