Pijijiapan is a town and municipality in the Mexican state of Chiapas, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean about midway between the border with the state of Oaxaca and the international frontier with Guatemala. As of 2010, the municipality had a total population of 50,079, up from 46,949 as of 2005. It has a land area of 2,223.3 km2. As of 2010, the city of Pijijiapan had a population of 16,917.
