John James Audubon State Park is located on U. S. Route 41 in Henderson, Kentucky, just south of the Ohio River. Its inspiration is John James Audubon, the ornithologist, naturalist, and painter who resided in Henderson from 1810 to 1819 when Henderson was a frontier village. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

State park campground is very clean with great communication. Employees are knowledgeable and friendly. There is noise from the highway but we would stay here again. The museum is superb and the grou.
Beautiful public park areas and a great museum exhibit about the life and art of Audubon. We learned a lot. Also picnic areas and cabins for overnighting.
By far one of the nicest State Parks we've ever visited and we've been to quite a few of them. We were there during the leaf change and the colors were spectacular. They have one of the finest museums
