About

Bryant Park is a 9.603-acre privately managed public park located in the New York City borough of Manhattan. It is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and between 40th and 42nd Streets in Midtown Manhattan. Although technically the Main Branch of the New York Public Library is located within the park, effectively it forms the park's functional eastern boundary, making Sixth Avenue the park's primary entrance.

European coffee kiosks, alfresco chess games, summer film screenings, and winter ice skating: it's hard to believe this leafy oasis was a crime-ridden hellscape in the ’70s. Nestled behind the beaux-arts New York Public Library building, it's a whimsical spot for a little time-out from the Midtown madness. There's a daily smorgasbord of quirky activities.

“Bryant Park is in the heart of the city, just east from Times Square, and in the winter they transform their lawn into a skating rink and the surrounding space into a holiday market selling crafts made by native New Yorkers. To the side of the rink, there’s a bar called Fever-Tree Porch, which exists all year. I love the hot whiskey with ginger beer they do around the holidays. It’s crisp and gives you that warmth that you’re seeking when it’s cold out.”
