Washington Dulles International Airport, typically referred to as Dulles International Airport, Dulles Airport, Washington Dulles, or Dulles, is an international airport in Loudoun County and Fairfax County, in Northern Virginia, United States 26 miles west of downtown Washington, D.C.The airport, which opened in 1962, is named after John Foster Dulles, an influential U.S. Secretary of State during the Cold War.
