If you’ve just disembarked the Jungle Cruise and you don’t want the fun (or puns) to end, make your way to the Skipper Canteen. The backstory of the restaurant is that it’s operated by the same family who founded the Jungle Navigation Co., so you can expect the same jokes from the ride to carry over to the dining room, plus mementos from the Skipper’s travels lining the walls. This is one of the few spots where you can drink in Magic Kingdom, and the most interesting choices here are the Kungaloosh, an amber ale brewed exclusively for Disney World, and an expertly balanced Jungle Bird, made with dark rum, Campari, and pineapple juice. We love the chewy off-menu pao de queijo, juicy hanger steak with roasted peppers, and the hearty curried vegetable stew.
