The Multimedia University, is a private research university in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Founded in 1997, it is the first private university within Malaysia and is a member of The Alliance of Government Linked Universities. In 1996, the government of Malaysia initiated efforts to liberalize the country's higher education sector and engage the private education industry in advancing human capital development.
