Onești, formerly known as Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej, is a city in Bacău County, Romania, with a population of 34,005 inhabitants as of 2021. It is situated in the historical region of Moldavia. Administratively, the villages of Slobozia and Borzești form part of Onești.
