When you’re craving tacos in Pleasanton, head to this family-friendly Mexican spot. The spacious dining room with checkered floors, colorful wall-mounted sombreros and ponchos, is homey and the food does not miss. The birria here is ridiculously good—rich and flavorful, with an impeccable consommé–rich and meaty, with a generous dose of onions and cilantro. Add on an order of the carne asada, or go with the chile verde for pork with just enough give, swimming in a bright, spicy green sauce. Always make sure to hit up their salsa bar to trial-and-error until you've dialed in the heat level to really make whatever you’re eating sing. (The orange-hued habanero salsa is our favorite.)
