Mendota is an unincorporated village and census-designated place in Washington County in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Virginia, at an elevation of approximately 1411 feet. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 135. There is a medical clinic there, a post office, two churches and several residences, but no market or gas station. The nearest major city is Bristol.
