About
Neumünster Abbey is a public meeting place and cultural centre, located in the Grund district of Luxembourg City in southern Luxembourg. After the original Benedictine abbey on the Altmünster Plateau had been destroyed in 1542, the monks built a new abbey or "Neumünster" in 1606 in the Grund. This in turn was destroyed by fire in 1684 but was rebuilt on the same site in 1688 and extended in 1720.

We didn't get to explore the place itself but the view of it from across the river Alzette made for a pleasing sight on a crisp December morning.
This is a very large abbey that’s now more like a museum. Internally there’s nothing of note to see. However, it still does have its charm externally and looks lovely when looking down on it from abov
This is a former abbey. It’s currently a cultural center. Quite a change for an old place. I found it interesting that the buildings have survived this long and been repurposed.
