Founded in 1836 by Antoine LeClaire and named after George Davenport, Davenport enjoys its gorgeous location along the banks of the idyllic Mississippi River which allows for romantic cruises and other activity. Annual festivals like the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival, the Quad City Air Show and the Valley Blues Festival attract interstate visitors as well as international tourists.
