Hackberry is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,261 at the 2010 census, down from 1,699 in 2000. The losses were due to extensive damage from hurricanes Rita and Ike in 2005 and 2008, respectively. It is part of the Lake Charles Metropolitan Statistical Area.
