The 60-acre mixed-use Century Square development, adjacent to the Texas A&M campus, is home to a multitude of shops, restaurants, and bars, as well as two boutique hotels. The George is the more luxurious of the two, and marries sleek urban-style design with hardy materials like richly figured wood and leather. King and Double rooms are swanky enough, while the Executive Suites spread out to 800 square feet. Downstairs, the 1791 Whiskey Bar is a sensible place to begin and/or end the evening, and Century Square’s restaurants begin right outside with Porters, an upscale chophouse and bar.
