Santana is a northern district in the subprefecture of Santana-Tucuruvi of the city of São Paulo, Brazil, and is located between 4–7 km from downtown São Paulo. Originating from the Sant’Ana Farm, property of the Society of Jesus that was first mentioned in 1560 by Father José de Anchieta, it functioned as the green belt of "São Paulo dos Campos de Piratininga". The farm's lands were divided into sesmarias at the beginning of the 19th century.
