Valencia Cathedral, at greater length the Metropolitan Cathedral–Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady of Valencia, also known as St Mary's Cathedral, is a Catholic church in Valencia, Spain. The cathedral was consecrated in 1238 by the first bishop of Valencia after the Reconquista, Pere d'Albalat, Archbishop of Tarragona, and was dedicated to Saint Mary by order of James I the Conqueror.

One of the main attractions for our visit. Seniors get in for 6 Euros and a lovely place to visit. We had a short queue to contend with so it must get busy in the summer.
We queued for when it opened. We wanted to visit the tower which I knew was extra, I asked and was told you could go after the church on you way out The church was lovely with an easy to use audio gui
This Spanish cathedral was a great example from the history of Valencia. We didn’t wait in the long line of the big tour. We enjoyed instead the 207 stairs up to the top of the tower to view all of V.
