Cardiff State Beach is a protected beach in the state park system of California, United States, located near San Diego. Popular activities include swimming, surfing, and beachcombing. Just next to Cardiff State Beach is San Elijo State Beach, which has a state-run campground. The 507-acre park was established in 1949.

The beach allows dogs on leash. The water is pretty shallow for awhile before it gets deep. There are stingrays and jellyfish. My son was stung by a jelly, but that's not unexpected when going in the
It's just beautiful. On my visit, it was not crowded. The vista from the road was clear and unobstructed and the sands were nice, whitish and clean.
