Esperance is a town in Schoharie County, New York, United States. The population was 1,806 at the 2020 census. The town was given the name of the principal village, which was named for "hope" in French. The Town of Esperance contains a village called Esperance. The town is in the northeastern part of Schoharie County and is west of Schenectady.
