There are over 250 species of plants in Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden. We could probably name about eight of them, but that doesn’t mean that sitting up here, next to something that might be foxglove with a chilled glass of rosé isn’t delightful. The cocktails are pretty average and the drink selection is small, but the postcard views of the South Bank, gingham picnic blankets, and private corners perfect for summer date nights make up for it. It’s also one of the few London rooftops where you can hide behind some foliage and feel like no one—not exes, emails, or landlords—can find you.
