Medea is a comune in the Regional decentralization entity of Gorizia in the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 45 kilometres northwest of Trieste and about 15 kilometres west of Gorizia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 918 and an area of 7.3 square kilometres. The municipality of Medea contains the frazioni Ara Pacis, Monte di Medea, and Sant’Antonio.
