Hutchinson is the largest city in and the county seat of Reno County, Kansas, United States. The city is located on the Arkansas River. It has been home to salt mines since 1887 but locals call it "Hutch." As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 40,006. Each year, Hutchinson hosts the Kansas State Fair, and National Junior College Athletic Association Men's Basketball Tournament.
