Ginza is Tokyo’s most iconic commercial district, and among its legendary retailers is Muji, the minimalist home goods brand with a global following. And just upstairs from Muji’s Ginza flagship store is the Muji Hotel Ginza, perhaps the ultimate advertisement for the streamlined simplicity of the Muji lifestyle. The rooms start out quite smallish indeed, as you’d expect from both Tokyo and this ultra-accessible brand; even at seven feet across they’re eminently livable, and the bigger ones border on luxury, if of an understated sort. Wa, the restaurant, serves simple and thoughtful Japanese fare in a suitably low-frills dining room.
