Sergiyev Posad is a city that is the administrative center of Sergiyevo-Posadsky District in Moscow Oblast, Russia. Population: 111,179 ; 113,581 ; 114,696 . The city contains the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, where Moscow Theological Academy is also located. The city was previously known by its current name until 1919, later it was renamed as Sergiyev and Zagorsk.
