Palanan is a 1st class municipality in the province of Isabela, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 17,260 people. The town is one of the remote and isolated community of Isabela separated from the rest of the province by the Sierra Madre Mountains. It is also a suburb of Ilagan, the provincial capital. No roads connect the municipality to the rest of Isabela.
