Annapolis Valley is an Indigenous governing body, designated as a First Nation by the Government of Canada. Annapolis Valley reserve lands currently include St. Croix 34 and Annapolis Valley. The territory’s borders don't necessarily represent the traditional lands of the Annapolis Valley as many Nations were forcibly relocated and their lands taken. Annapolis Valley is signatory to the Peace and Friendship Treaties of 1725-1779.
