Baranoa is a municipality and town in the Colombian department of Atlántico, located 22 km south of Barranquilla. The municipality occupies an area of 127 km, including rural, urban, suburban and protected land. Baranoa has 55,178 inhabitants (2006 Census), 82.63% of these are concentrated in the urban town and 17.37% in rural areas.
