The Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica located on the summit of Mount Tibidabo in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The building is the work of the Spanish architect Enric Sagnier and was completed by his son Josep Maria Sagnier i Vidal. The construction of the church, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, lasted from 1902 to 1961.

We spotted this church on a mountain from across Barcelona and decided to visit. We caught the metro to Peu del Funicular Station (the platform is short so make sure you are in the middle of the train
The church is beautiful, with impressive large mosaic boards. We entered the tower of the christ statue, from where you get an exeptional city view, and eh Vh additionally challenges your fear of heig
The church is pretty big and stands out on the hill but inside feels kinda empty and plain for such a big place. We took the funicular up which was nice but didn’t feel like there was much to do once
