The Old Store Huajian Hall · Zhuque Li is the location of the Sanguan Hall a Taoist temple dedicated to the worship of heavenly officials, earthly officials, and water officials bestowed by Emperor Chengzu Zhu Di during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. The hotels name Zhuque is derived from the ancient poem Sheng Ge Cong Jiu Ying Zhuque, Gu Shu Qi Zhen Bu Wu Yi, which leads travelers to explore the past life in the south of the city.The house in Zhuque Lane, Laomen East Huajian Hall, is a living evolution from Ming Dynasty Taoist ruins, Qing Dynasty residences to modern boutique hotels.
