进贤门是揭阳古城的唯一现存城门与文化地标，始建于明天启元年1621，通抵学宫、取增进贤士之意；建筑上为国内罕见的城门城楼亭台三合一结构，谯楼晓角入选揭阳古八景，2015年列为省级文保单位。位于揭阳市榕城区进贤门大道环岛处，是古城核心，得名为通抵揭阳学宫，寓意增进贤士，寄托文运兴盛之愿揭阳人俗称红亭，是几代人的交通与情感记忆。采用三合一罕见形制：下层：石筑瓮城门，拱门宽约1.85米、深8米，额嵌进贤门石匾无落款，成谜中层：城楼，杉木构，设窗棂与回廊上层：八角攒尖琉璃亭阁，飞檐翘角，花窗雕饰精美，总高约16.77米听当地人说新婚绕行祈和睦、学子登楼盼高中、商贾经此寄顺遂，是吉祥之门。免费开放，白天夜晚各有特色，夜晚亮灯特别的美。周边步行可达揭阳学宫、城隍庙、双峰寺、西马路，半日逛透古城精华。
