Although few budget hotels are permitted to accept foreign guests, the Huixianlou Hotel is an exception. This old hotel enjoys a good reputation amongst backpackers to Chongqing. The Hotel is quite close to the railway station only 3KM, and located nearby the Liberation Monument where all the big department stores are clustered. It is easy to get here, and almost all the taxi drivers in the city know the name of this place.The hotel is currently an international 2 star hotel. Although the hotel has standard rooms which are about RMB150 each, what is really attractive are those beds in the multi-bed rooms. A bed in these rooms costs as little as RMB50 about as low as they get in Chongqing. The hotel restaurants offer nice Sichuan food too.
