As its double-barrelled name suggests, Wynn and Encore Las Vegas is not one but two hotels; and, as is the custom in this town, each one is truly vast, the Wynn weighing in at 2,716 rooms and suites and the Encore another 2,034. Boutique hospitality this most certainly isn’t — but that’s not at all the point of a place like Vegas. Instead, Wynn and Encore Las Vegas deals in superlatives. This — we’ll refer to the pair of them in the singular, for convenience — is not only an expansive hotel but a remarkably elegant, even tasteful one as well. You wouldn’t call it minimalist, by any stretch, but the rooms are handsome in warm tones and refined décor. The expansive views are a plus, and the in-room comforts are first-rate. So is the service, a particular point of pride for Wynn and Encore. Nor are the public spaces anything less than extravagant, from the endless casino to the capacious selection of luxury shops to the numerous restaurants and nightspots, covering more global cuisines than you’ll have time to sample. And the highlight of the entertainment programming is Awakening, a 360-degree immersive theatrical experience that defies description here — safe to say it’s rather beyond the abilities of just about every other hotel on the planet.
